The no-love tag :-p

Been a little inactive. Lot of blogs to catch up, replies to comments always delayed by 2 or 3 days. Must be what Dhanya calls the blogger’s block. Taking up Hari’s tag, to come out of indolence

RULE #1 People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs and replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.

RULE #2 Tag 6 people to do this quiz and those who are tagged cannot refuse. These people must state who they were tagged by and cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by continue this game by sending it to other people.

1. If your lover betrayed you what would your reaction be?

Not sure but with the present absolutely nonchalant attitude w.r.t. love and romance, I might say “Oh alright see you around then and good luck with the new girl”

2. What’s it that you see in an ideal partner?

Non-existence

3. What, according to you, is the perfect date?

Walk-date. Meaning walk all the while, chewing some ground nuts, stopping at a thattu kada for coffee/dosha.

4. Would you like to have children soon enough? Or would you wait till your mid-thirties for the first child?

Replacing question: Do you like children?

Yup love them. Absolutely love them.

5. Will you fall in love with your best friend?

I always say it’d work out great if that really happened. But then not sure what would really happen – if they can still remain best friends as well, great. Oh this is about me- so I’d rather not risk it. I like having my best friends as my best friends, don’t want to lose them at the cost of a possible bad relationship.

6. Which is more blessed: loving someone or being loved by someone?

More blessed – being loved was what I’d have thought some time back. But finding self incapable of any such feelings, being able to love someone genuinely, would be a major blessing.

7. How long do you intend to wait for someone you love?

None if it is the partner we are talking about. I might be doing this tag at a wrong time, I seem completely insensitive. Old age I guess.
Now if its about my little nephew, I am waiting every single second to see him again.

8. If the person you secretly like is attached, what will you do?

Oh darn my luck – if I actually find myself capable of loving someone, which in itself is a rarity, and then I should find that the loser has found someone else – Well I will be dashed!

9. If you could root for one social cause, what would it be?

Promote adoption

10. Do you lie?

Ah finally one place I can score, I have a reputation for not lying even for trivial causes. Not that I am too proud of it, had more often landed me in trouble. Honesty is troublesome.

11. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

Hopeful me – famous author of 3 books
Pessimistic me – unemployed gulp

12. What’s your fear?

If the plans I have made for myself right now may not work out and it is not just about authoring books and finding employment.

13. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?

A thinking and quite a nice little kid

14. Would you rather be single and rich or married and poor?

Single and rich (Single was the attraction there, not what came with it, hmph!)

15. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously who will you pick?

Haha me in love with 2? That’s like asking Akshay Kumar if he could quit marrying. If I do, I must be a really dumb person! Wont pick both cause chances are I will regret not choosing other for rest of life!

16. Would you give all in a relationship?

Yes I think I will. And give all doesn’t imply give in or give up.

17. Would you forgive and forget someone no matter how horrible a thing he has done?

Might forgive, but know from experience will never forget

18. Do you prefer being single or in a relationship?

Single

19. Your all time favourite song. Only ONE. And why?

This was the toughest. Ethetho from Punnagai Mannan – the first song I learnt to sing as far as I remember.

Tagging

1. Jay – newest friend and blogger who wont let you comment
2. Philip – haven’t seen his entries for a little too long, and he is probably tagged already!
3. Amrutha – Now this is going to be a serious affair.
4. AJ – Hahaha I don’t think he will do this, but if he does, boy it should be fun!
5. Mathew – cant wait for his hilarious answers
6. TF – Author of Lucifer House Inc. Fresh after a series of bride hunts he should be well prepared for this

Avoided married friends, but anyone who likes to take this up, do and let know. Its fun to read this one.

  1. Too many tags doth spoil the blog. Tagging sucks! Boo!

Btw I was thinking of your answer to #9 :

    >> 9. If you could root for one social cause, what would it be?
    >> Promote adoption

I’d say a better solution is to attack the root of the problem and to promote safe sex. Then we wouldn’t have so many orphans.

  2. Hi,
I think the clincher is your answer to question 10. The way you answered ‘yes’ in such a subtle way was very good. 🙂
    Cheers,
    Salil

  3. Almost clapped and laughed simultaneously, reading the answer to your 2nd question.

Thanks for the 13th thingy. Was waiting to listen your take on me! 😛

And thanks for taking up the tag too. Felt really happy reading through this one, sis. Dunno why! 🙂

  4. Done! Sorry to disappoint, but it is not very serious. 😛

  5. @Nish, but would that be an immediate solution? And its not easy to convince. Adoption is something an individual can take up, without help from outside.

    @Salil, hahaha good ‘un!

@Hari, I thought I will need a lot of time to do this tag when I saw it but surprisingly I took just a few minutes, didnt have to think for answers except maybe the last question and the social cause one. Thanks kiddo, I enjoyed doing it :-). Was kind of a self-realization!

@Amrutha, thanks dear for doing it so soon!

I don’t think it’s any easier to convince people to adopt than it’s to get them to practice safe sex, in fact adoption is not something you should force upon unwilling folks. Not all folks are meant to be parents (natural or adopted).

Kids would be better off in a well-run orphanage than in the care of misfitting adopted parents.

One issue in India is that pre-marital ex is frowned upon, so people always do it with utmost secrecy. Once this taboo is lifted, people’d be more open about it and perhaps follow a safer approach.

Again, I think promoting adoption is a good idea, but it should be targeted at the right people.

  10. @mathew, LOL! Err I forgot to mention my date would be with me for the walk and the dosha 😀

@Nimmy, wow thats a mixed reaction! What happened at the end? Didnt you like the song? 🙂

@Nish, you are right about that – forcing adoption wont be a good practice of course. I was just thinking its more easier to make happen from a personal point of view. Like I can go and adopt a child but I should find it hard to convince people about adoption or safe sex for that matter. Removing prejudice is hard. Hmm but if any social cause should come about, talking and convincing would have to be there.

@j, you can replace the entire set of questions you know – maybe you can end up writing about Obama and Joe Biden (guessing thats one of your favorite areas?)

  15. C okay , i hope u don’t mind my using ur real estate. So here goes.

    1. If your lover betrayed you what would your reaction be?
    A) Don’t know.

    2. What’s it that you see in an ideal partner?
    A) Someone who is intense, passionate, in love with life, is curious about the world and is crazier than me. The last one esp. is tough to meet.

    3. What, according to you, is the perfect date?
A)some time somewhere in a nice hill station where you can hear streams, birds …yada yada. A more realistic one is a (very exp.) place in bangalore outskirts called grasshopper. Pple there should try it.

    4. Would you like to have children soon enough? Or would you wait till your mid-thirties for the first child?
    A) Think so. I don’t like children that much to be frank. Pesky little rascals.

    5. Will you fall in love with your best friend?
    A) No. ( There is a male female difference in this. A big percentage of women hope for yes while men will instinctively say no. Brain wiring is different – pop-psychologist jay)

    6. Which is more blessed: loving someone or being loved by someone?
    A) It’s basic human narcissism to be desired than to desire as the latter makes you vulnerable to hurt. Being very much human, I too have the same feeling.

    7. How long do you intend to wait for someone you love?
    A) Don’t know.

    8. If the person you secretly like is attached, what will you do?
    A)Don’t know.

    9. If you could root for one social cause, what would it be?
    A) Universal education.
More – Find out a way to spread good ideas. (Yea, i know). Encourage reading, critical thinking in young people.

    10. Do you lie?
    A) only to my mom.

    11. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
    A) don’t know.

    12. What’s your fear?
    A) that i’m not gud enough to live the life i want to live.

    13. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
    A) an interesting woman. She walks more distance in a single day than what I normally do in a year.

    14. Would you rather be single and rich or married and poor?
    A) Men who are really rich never remain (functionally) single. Bad question frankly.

    15. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously who will you pick?
    A) the one i feel likes me more.

    16. Would you give all in a relationship?
    A) yes. but depends. not my identity, my values, desires etc…material possessions, sacrifices etc…yeah.

    17. Would you forgive and forget someone no matter how horrible a thing he has done?
    A). yes.

    18. Do you prefer being single or in a relationship?
A). varies from day to day frankly :-). Part of me is a sceptic based on the past. Part of me is an optimist…yada yada.

  19. Noticed i missed the song….Noticed most of the pple have listed great songs. And favz in music is something I’ve never really thought about. Here goez.

    19. Your all time favorite songs. Any number u may wish to list. And why?
    ———————————————————————————–

    Instrumentals
    —————
Am an instrumental music nut. So, forgive me if no one has heard many of these. I will try to verbalize what I felt and maybe u will pick up a copy of any of these.

    1. ‘There’s a fire deep in the hill’. (Lifescapes – World flutes). Its a a native american flute Solo. A random cd i picked up sometime. Still find it ‘soul stirring. There is a stunning simplicity and beauty to the music. It just instinctively feels so ‘true’.
    2. ‘The Bridge of Sighs’. (Seduction – Ranjit Barot). If you have ever heard an east-west jugalbandi performed ..most probably in one of the youth fests in colleges around india, chances are they ripped it out of this. Fusion music at its best.
    3. ‘Nostalgia’ (Yanni – Live at the acropolis).
    4. ‘Bombay Theme. (Bombay – A.R. Rahman).
    5. ‘Schindler’s list theme’ (Itzak perlman).

    Malayalam
    ————-
    1. ‘Raree rareeram’ (Venugopal – Onnu muthal poojyam vare).
    2. ‘Melle’
    3. ‘Sarabindu’
    4. Chooraveena (the recent commie song. beeaaauutifully sung).
    5. Aaroral (yesudas).

    Tamil
    ——-
    1. ‘Valai Osai’ (Satya – Ilayaraja). Lata mangeshkar can do anything can’t she. phew.
    2. ‘Azhagu’ (Ar rahman)
    3. ‘Nila Kagirathu’ (Ar Rahman – Indira)
    4. ‘Margazhi Poove’ (Ar Rahman – may matham). Havta admit the reason maybe more than musical here. The woman who is acting is very pretty.
    5. ‘Thenmega’ (ar rahman)

    Hindi
    ——-
    1. ‘Ruth aa gayi re’ ( 1947 Earth – AR Rahman). An outta the world beautiful song. A true hindi heartland feel to it. Rahman just rocks.
    2. Yeh Taara (Swades – AR Rahman)
    3. ‘Kahani Mohabbat ki’ (Dhaani – Strings). Very romantic. Sorta personal memories associated but still a great song.
    4. ‘Kahan Kho Gaye’ (Darde Dil – Pervez). Beeeaaaauuuutiful song. Sung from the heart. Its about a forlorn love.
    5. ‘Fanaa’ (Yuva – Rahman)

Was gonna write down angrezi 2 but this much took me 45 minutes u know, to think and write. So tatz it :-).
