Power cuts: Too many of ’em!

Power-cuts! I do not like them! Half an hour cuts were alright, heck everybody had it so it was universal. Alright lets not get carried away, it was statal (no such word, it means something like state-wide). But today I had it for 2 half-an-hours and while I am writing this I am losing power every 5 minutes. I was fooled into shutting down the system the first 3 times, but now I am letting it work on my UPS. I can predict a few things dead around my system in the near future, one of the first going to be my UPS.

So the point of this blog? Protest! I don’t know who to protest against so I am just leaving it open. Anyone who would like to take the blame is welcome. I was just talking to another Trivandrumite and he informs me he has only half-hour failures (I will skip the part where he said he likes it, in case this should give power-takers any more encouragement!). So its only my part of the city that suffers! How unfair! And this is after I am located in the centre of all centre things. Ok I do not live in the Secretariat. But that’s no reason to put me in darkness! Poor perspiring suffocating me!

Protests are always meant to show some results. So I am leaving this open here. Anyone who wants to show some result could show it by giving me some light, some brightness, some cool air and a lot of electricity!!!

  2. Ms Cris,
    Me landing in tvm on Friday. I hope power cuts do not extend to 2 hours when I am there. Selfish me.
    Can’t blame anyone. No rains, no power.

  3. What they do is 5+5+5+5+5+5 = 30. We need, at least, politicians who are bold enough to declare “Electricity that is produced in the state is less than what we require. So the govt has decided to implement additional power cut for 1/2 an hour every day”. They fear they loose goodwill. And it seems they will never understand faith is stronger than goodwill.

  7. @rose, I meant 2 half-hours, not 2 n a half hours. Well it happens sometimes but no, not everyday. So I had to stop cribbing and read about our no-rain-no-power hurdles.

    @Nikhil, that is today. Leave all your bags behind, but dont forget your matches.

    @manu, well-said!

    @sajith, officially just half an hour. I guess some days they lose count of the minutes

    @Srijith, because of the lack of it rather. Sigh

    @M.Rose, annoying? It is killing!
