Sales people!

There used to be a time when I thought I should be a sales girl. The job looked so easy. Actually a friend of mine, Ms RK and I made a deal with this shop called Style Plus in Trivandrum. We just finished 12th and had a long vacation ahead. So we thought of part time jobs and Style Plus told us they’d let us in at 1000 per month. That meant a lot of money back then. Especially for school girls.

Anyway that’s not the point. Being a sales girl is not at all an easy job! Take a department store for one. It just lies in front of you like this huge big play ground with racks and racks of shelves. There are a hundred thousand things and yet when you tell them you want this color soap of this brand in this size, they reach the spot in half a second and reappear in another. These people must come with a huge bulk of memory space. I can’t figure out how they do it. Heck I can’t remember where my things are in my 1-meter desk space!

Or take a medical shop. You say medicine mokaso-pikaso and they do these 1-second magic tricks and voila you get your mokaso-pikaso! Maybe they get more rigorous training than in IT companies.

These people are a marvel. They’d probably leave IT jobs in 2 days cause of the lack of brain-exertion. There is nothing to remember. All you have got to do is do a search on your hard disk and bingo you get where everything is.

Oh well if I had a hat I’d say hats off – I wonder why they say hats, and not hat. Oh well I will figure that out later. For now let’s stop with hail sales people!

  5. Sales people don’t have much memory. They are not as absent minded as we are. That’s all.
